MONTGOMERY– Forty-four Alabama Law Enforcement Agency trooper trainees are scheduled to graduate Wednesday, Oct. 28, following months of training.
Plans call for a 10 a.m. Class 2026-B ceremony at the Montgomery Performing Arts Centre.
Ahead of graduation, Gov. Kay Ivey welcomed the trainees to the Governor’s Mansion for a reception Tuesday. The class is also the final ALEA trooper class of her administration.
According to the governor’s office, training began May 18 for candidates without prior law enforcement certification. Candidates who already held certification then joined the class Aug. 24.
The trainees have spent months preparing for the responsibilities of law enforcement at the ALEA Training Center.
Graduates Will Serve Across Alabama
The class will serve across all seven ALEA troops statewide. In addition, four graduates will join Marine Patrol, while one will serve in Protective Services.
The assignments will place graduates on Alabama’s highways and waterways, as well as in protective duties.
The governor’s office also said the graduation will bring her administration’s total to 504 trooper trainees across 19 classes.
ALEA Secretary Hal Taylor praised the incoming troopers and Ivey’s support for the agency. He also described the class as part of a continuing commitment to public safety and service to Alabama residents.
