ATTALLA– Attalla Fire & Rescue has purchased new vehicle stabilization struts with grant funding from Coosa Valley RC&D.
The department said the tools will strengthen its capabilities during vehicle rescue and extrication incidents. For example, the struts help crews stabilize vehicles during rescue operations.
WEIS Radio previously reported a $6,361.78 award for Attalla’s technical rescue equipment and stabilizing struts. That project also appeared among nine FY2026 Etowah County awards totaling $75,331.29.
The awards also supported schools, other emergency-response agencies, and community projects across the county. Recipients gathered at Hokes Bluff High School for a celebration highlighted in the July 30 report.
In its latest announcement, Attalla Fire & Rescue also thanked the council for its continued support. The department said that partnership helps improve its equipment and emergency response capabilities.
Coosa Valley RC&D is a nonprofit serving an 11-county region, including Etowah, Cherokee, and Calhoun counties. In addition, its work addresses natural resources, community development, and quality-of-life improvements.
