CENTRE– The Centre Fall Festival celebrates a milestone Saturday, Oct. 3, with its 50th annual gathering. A children’s fun run, parade, vendors, and live music will give families a full slate of fall fun.
The City of Centre is inviting the whole community to join its 50th annual festival. Along with shopping and food, visitors can also support local causes while enjoying the celebration.
Centre Fall Festival Brings Running Shoes and Parade Cheers
First, young festivalgoers can lace up for the fun run at 9:30 a.m. Children ages 3–13 can participate, giving some of the youngest residents their own moment in the spotlight.
Then, the parade begins at 10:30 a.m., adding another reason for families to gather and cheer. Parents can contact City Hall beforehand to sign children up for the run.
Meanwhile, the city’s flyer promises plenty of vendors, with opportunities to shop, eat, and enjoy the festivities. Live music will continue throughout the day as well, giving visitors a soundtrack for their festival outing.
Whether the stop is a vendor booth or the parade, the celebration offers families several ways to join in.
Barbecue With a Purpose
Festival appetites will also help a local organization serve neighbors in need.
The Children and Seniors Assistance Foundation, or CSAF, will sell barbecue sandwiches and smoked bologna sandwiches during the festival. In addition, the group will offer BT’s Sexy Sauce while supplies last.
CSAF’s barbecue fundraiser includes preorders for smoked Boston butts at $35 and smoked bologna logs at $20. Customers can pick up those orders at the festival from 8 to 11 a.m. Anyone needing another pickup time should arrange it in advance.
Supporters can also order through a CSAF board member or the QR codes on the group’s promotional materials. Proceeds support the foundation’s work for Cherokee County children and older residents, including its Christmas for Kids effort.
A Chance to Help the Marching Warriors
Meanwhile, the Cherokee County Marching Warriors plan to sell fundraiser tickets at the festival to help purchase new uniforms.
Tickets cost $50 each, with organizers limiting sales to 450. The giveaway drawings will take place Nov. 7, with the final ticket drawn winning $10,000. Every 50th ticket drawn will also win $50, and ticket holders do not have to attend to win.
