GADSDEN– The Gadsden Civil Service Board promoted Cody Owens to sergeant with the Gadsden Police Department during its regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday night.
According to the department, Owens has worked in several capacities during his Gadsden Police career. Before joining GPD, he served in the U.S. Army.
Additionally, Owens has experience working for the Alabama Department of Corrections. That background adds military and corrections experience to his service with Gadsden Police.
The department congratulated Owens and said it is proud to see him advance. Gadsden Police officials also said they look forward to seeing him lead in his new role.
