During the first meeting in the New City Hall Tuesday afternoon, Mayor Jay Howell, told those in attendance this begins a New Chapter in the history of Centre.
During the meeting the Council approved repairs to the parking lot of the Mary George Waite Community Center Parking lot at a cost of $19,383, approved managed security services for Anti Virus protection from Network Solutions in the amount of $220 per month. Office 365 applications were also approved in the amount of $165 per month, the copier lease was renewed with the City being provided new copiers at the same cost of $217 per month and a new copier was approved for the Fire Department in the amount of $186 per month.
The Parks and Rec Director asked for a seasonal employee to be moved to part-time status with the Council concurring.
Mayor Howell informed the Council he was appointing McClure, Sewell, Johnson and Associates as the new auditor for the City at a cost of $17 to $20,000 per year which is less than what they were paying.
Councilor Karen Slupe informed the Council the City had failed to file the proper report to the Bonding Company for the past 5 years. She asked the Council to approve contracting with the Raymond James firm to file the reports for City and get the City back in full compliance. The fee for this service is $2500 per year.
The Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for the City Hall will be at 10am on August 3rd with everyone invited for the special ceremonies.
