
GAYLESVILLE — One person was injured in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Gaylesville.
The crash occurred just before 7 a.m. when a black Ford Explorer left Highway 35 near the intersection of County Road 80 and struck a tree.
The driver, who was the only occupant of the SUV, had to be extricated from the vehicle by first responders.
The Gaylesville Fire Department, Cherokee County Rescue Squad, and Atrium Floyd EMS all responded to the scene.
Once freed from the vehicle, the driver was transported by Atrium Floyd EMS to an area hospital. The extent of the driver’s injuries is not known at this time.
The crash remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
