Gadsden Fire Department Responds to Infant Medical Emergency

GADSDEN — The Gadsden Fire Department responded to a medical emergency involving an infant on Wednesday, May 27, according to information released by the department.

Officials said firefighters and fire medics were dispatched after a 911 call reporting a medical emergency involving an infant. Upon arrival, emergency personnel immediately began providing medical care.

Due to the nature of the emergency, responders determined the patient needed immediate transport for advanced medical treatment. The Gadsden Fire Department, with assistance from the Gadsden Police Department, coordinated transportation and an escort in an effort to provide the patient with the best possible outcome.

In a statement, the department emphasized its continued commitment to delivering high-quality emergency care to the community.

“We want to let our community know that we make every effort to give our great citizens the best possible care,” the department stated. “We remain committed to honor and service, life and skill.”

While acknowledging public interest in the incident, fire officials said certain details will remain confidential due to the nature of the emergency and out of respect for the family involved.
