Jake Rogers Sworn in as Chaplain for Gadsden State Police and Public Safety Department

GADSDEN — The Gadsden State Police and Public Safety Department has announced that Jake Rogers has officially been sworn in as Chaplain, expanding the department’s support services for officers, students, and the broader campus community.
Rogers brings extensive experience in emergency response, crisis management, and tactical medicine. He has worked alongside the department for several years, contributing to training initiatives for students, community members, and law enforcement personnel.

A graduate of Gadsden State Community College, Rogers has maintained strong ties to the institution and surrounding communities. He and his wife, Kenzie, remain active locally, including membership at First Baptist Church of Gadsden. Rogers has completed seminary training and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Historical Theology, academic work that supports his approach to providing informed and grounded spiritual care.
In his role as chaplain, Rogers will offer support to officers and members of the campus community, providing guidance, encouragement, and presence during both routine operations and critical incidents. Beginning this fall, he will also be involved with campus ministry, where he will assist in supporting the spiritual life of students.
Chief Jay Freeman said the department is pleased to welcome Rogers to the team and looks forward to the impact of his service within the agency and across campus operations.
