Anniston Police Officer Matthew Martin Named 2025 Crime Stoppers Officer of the Year

ANNISTON — The City of Anniston has recognized Anniston Police Officer Matthew Martin for being named the 2025 Crime Stoppers Officer of the Year for the Anniston Police Department.

The honor was presented during the May 5, 2026, Anniston City Council meeting by Diane Thomas, in recognition of Officer Martin’s work and dedication to public safety and law enforcement efforts within the community.

According to city officials, Officer Martin has played an active role in narcotics enforcement and drug-related investigations and has served as a key member of the department’s investigative team. His efforts have been credited with supporting ongoing initiatives to reduce drug activity and improve community safety.

City leaders noted that the award highlights both his professional performance and his continued commitment to serving the citizens of Anniston.

The City of Anniston and the Anniston Police Department expressed their appreciation for Officer Martin’s service and congratulated him on receiving the distinction of Crime Stoppers Officer of the Year.
