ANNISTON — The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office has announced the promotion of Corrections Lieutenant Jordan Shekels to the rank of Corrections Captain, recognizing her years of service, leadership, and professional achievement within the agency.

Capt. Shekels has served with the Sheriff’s Office for more than a decade, advancing through the ranks of corrections officer, corporal, sergeant, and lieutenant. Throughout her career, she has taken on increasing responsibility within the corrections division and has also served as a certified K9 handler.

In addition to her experience in the field, Capt. Shekels has pursued extensive education and professional development. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Organizational Leadership from Columbia Southern University and an Associate of General Studies from Gadsden State Community College.

Her professional credentials include designation as a Certified Jail Manager (CJM) through the American Jail Association, recognition as a Trilogy Award recipient from FBI-LEEDA, and certification as a National Certified Corrections Supervisor (NCCS) through the National Institute for Jail Operations (NIJO).

Sheriff Falon Hurst commended Capt. Shekels on her promotion, noting her dedication to the agency and her continued commitment to excellence in corrections.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office extended its congratulations to Capt. Shekels on her achievement and expressed confidence in her continued leadership in her new role.
