Northbound Lanes of I-59 Closed in DeKalb County Following Early Morning Commercial Vehicle Crash

DEKALB COUNTY— A single-vehicle crash involving a commercial vehicle early Monday morning has resulted in the closure of the northbound lanes of Interstate 59 in DeKalb County.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:58 a.m. on April 27 near the 227-mile marker. According to authorities, both northbound lanes are currently blocked and are expected to remain closed for an undetermined amount of time.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division responded to the scene and are actively investigating the crash. Officials have not yet released additional details, including whether there were any injuries.

Motorists traveling in the area are encouraged to seek alternate routes and remain cautious as emergency personnel continue to work the scene. ALEA officials say updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
