Public Safety Notice Issued for Increased Traffic at Blanche Crossroads

Cherokee County Emergency Management and Cherokee County 911 are advising motorists to expect increased traffic at Blanche Crossroads, the intersection of Highway 273 and Highway 35, on Saturday, April 11th.

The advisory comes as the Little River Canyon Jeep Outfitters prepares to host its 3rd Anniversary Event in the area.

Officials say drivers traveling through the intersection should expect higher than normal traffic volume, possible congestion near the event location, and increased pedestrian activity.

Motorists are encouraged to slow down and use extra caution when approaching the intersection, watch for vehicles entering and exiting the area as well as pedestrians, avoid distractions while driving, and allow additional travel time if traveling through the area.

Cherokee County EMA and 911 officials say patience and attention from drivers will help ensure a safe and successful event for everyone.
