Traffic Stop in Pollard’s Bend Leads to Drug Trafficking Arrest

A traffic stop in the Pollard’s Bend area Monday night led to the arrest of a Cedar Bluff man on drug trafficking charges.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, on March 29 a narcotics investigator was patrolling the Pollard’s Bend area on County Road 7 when he observed a vehicle speeding and conducted a traffic stop.
During the stop, the investigator developed probable cause to search the vehicle. During the search, approximately 1.5 ounces of suspected methamphetamine was found.
Jimmy Ray Ramey, 57, of Cedar Bluff, was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Ramey was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center.
