Eight-run first inning helps Collinsville claim 9-6 softball win at Ider

IDER – The Collinsville Lady Panthers pushed across eight runs in the top of the first inning and held on for a 9-6 softball win at Ider on Monday.

Maelee Barkley led the Lady Panthers (8-8) by going 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs. Brayleigh Smith went 2-for-4 with a double, a run, and two RBIs. Halle Peek was also 2-for-4 with a run, and a RBI. Aubrey Reeves went 2-for-5 with a double, a run, and two RBIs.

Gabriella Whitmore and Ella Coker both added a hit, a run, and a RBI.

Smith pitched five innings and allowed an earned run on six hits with a walk and five strikeouts. Bella Wills worked two innings of three-hit ball with a pair of strikeouts.

Collinsville hosts Asbury on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
