Dawn O’Sullivan Joins Gadsden Mayor’s Office Staff

GADSDEN, Ala.- Gadsden Mayor Craig Ford has announced the addition of Dawn O’Sullivan to his administrative staff, where she will serve as executive assistant in the mayor’s office.

O’Sullivan replaces Britnee Perkins, who recently left the position to join the District Court staff.

Mayor Ford praised the new hire, citing her extensive background in government service. “Dawn is a wonderful addition to our team,” Ford said. “She has extensive experience in government, and we’re glad to have her on board to share her insights and help keep things running smoothly at City Hall.”

O’Sullivan brings more than three decades of experience as a paralegal, with work spanning both criminal and civil law, including municipal law. Her background also includes 10 years at the county government level and five years working in city government.

She said her experience has given her a strong understanding of administrative operations. “During my time in city and county government, I’ve gained a substantial working knowledge of administrative processes, their development and implementation,” O’Sullivan said. “I’m excited to be a part of the mayor’s office and all the great things going on in Gadsden.”

O’Sullivan’s family also has deep ties to public service. Her husband, with decades of experience in law enforcement, currently works in federal courthouse security with the U.S. Marshals. One of her sons serves as a Gadsden firefighter, while her son-in-law is in the U.S. Army.

She and her husband have been married for 32 years and have two grandchildren, with another expected later this year.
