BLOUNT COUNTY, Ala.– The Blount County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Michael Andrew Dewoody, 41, of the Remlap area, on multiple charges related to the alleged sexual exploitation of a minor.

According to investigators, Dewoody is accused of engaging in sexual acts with a child under the age of 17.
Dewoody has been charged with the following offenses:

Facilitating Travel for Child Sex

Traveling to Meet a Child for Sex
-
Electronic Solicitation of a Child
-
Transmitting Obscene Material to a Child
-
Sexual Abuse, Second Degree
Investigators are asking anyone who may have had inappropriate contact with Dewoody, or who may have information related to this investigation, to come forward.
The Blount County Sheriff’s Office says crimes involving the exploitation of children are taken extremely seriously. Authorities believe there may be additional victims or individuals with information who have not yet spoken with law enforcement.
