Road Closures Planned in Anniston for Shamrockin’ 5K Color Run and Kids Race

Anniston — The City of Anniston is advising residents and motorists of temporary road closures Saturday, March 14, to accommodate the Annual Shamrockin’ 5K Color Run and Kids Race hosted by Main Street Anniston.

The event will take place at The City Market in downtown Anniston, with activities scheduled throughout the afternoon.

Registration for participants will begin at 4:00 p.m., followed by the Kids Race at 4:15 p.m. The Shamrockin’ 5K Color Run is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.

To ensure the safety of runners and spectators, several streets and surrounding areas will be temporarily closed during the Kids Race portion of the event. The affected areas include the intersections of 12th Street and Moore Avenue, 10th Street and Moore Avenue, 11th Street, and Gurnee Avenue between 11th Street and Moore Avenue.

City officials encourage motorists to plan alternate routes and use caution when traveling near the event area.

Officials also thanked the community for its patience and cooperation in helping make the annual event safe and successful for participants and spectators.
