Gadsden Firefighters Respond to Early Morning House Fire on North 11th Street

Gadsden — The Gadsden Fire Department responded to a fully involved house fire early Tuesday morning on North 11th Street.

Fire crews were dispatched at 1:41 a.m. to the residence, located between Gardner and McDuffie streets. When the first units arrived on scene, the structure was already fully engulfed in flames.

The home sustained 100 percent damage as a result of the fire.

Responders were still on scene at 3 a.m. when WEIS departed the area. Firefighters were working in temperatures in the low 20s to extinguish the blaze.  The Gadsden Police Department assisted with traffic control, and Advantage EMS responded in support of operations.

Officials said the home was believed to have been unoccupied and boarded up at the time of the blaze. No injuries were reported, including to firefighters.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
