Collinsville baseball overcomes Etowah in nine innings

COLLINSVILLE – The Collinsville Panthers scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to take a 5-4 baseball victory over Etowah on Tuesday.

Jeremiah Killian collected a pair of hits for the Panthers (2-1), including a double. He also walked, scored a run, and drove in two more. Jacob Niles added a hit, a walk, and a RBI. Colton Pettus contributed a hit and a RBI.

Brantley Daugherty earned the win for the Panthers. He tossed five innings and surrendered two earned runs on four hits with a walk and eight strikeouts. Killian worked the first four innings and scattered two earned runs on three hits with no walks and four strikeouts.

Collinsville is scheduled to host Sand Rock on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
