Gadsden State Police Attend Statewide Chiefs Conference in Montgomery

Montgomery-Gadsden State Police Chief Jay Freeman and Lt. Colton Harden are in Montgomery this week attending the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police Winter Conference for professional training and development. Other chiefs from area law enforcement agencies are also attending the statewide event.

The conference offers training focused on best practices, leadership development, and emerging public safety issues aimed at improving service to campuses and surrounding communities.
While in Montgomery, the two toured the Alabama House and Senate with fellow law enforcement leaders and met with legislators to gain a firsthand look at the legislative process and strengthen relationships with state leaders.
State Representative Mack Butler welcomed the group, saying, “It was good to have Jay Freeman, Camp Yancey, and Colton Harden with us today in Montgomery. These are three of the absolute best!!”

The department also expressed appreciation to Senate President Pro Tem Garlan Gudger and his wife, Heather, for welcoming attendees and providing a tour of the Capitol, noting their continued support of public safety efforts.
Officials say the training and partnerships help Gadsden State Police remain committed to continuous improvement in campus safety and service to the community.
