SAND ROCK – Maddie Clanton tossed in 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Class 2A, No. 4 Sand Rock Lady Wildcats to a 63-27 victory over Westminster of Oak Mountain in sub-regional basketball action on Friday.

Molly Grace Lay and Hadlie Weaver also reached double figures for Sand Rock (23-10). Lay scored 17 points and dished out four assists. Weaver rang for 15 points and grabbed six boards.

Macey Pruitt posted five points and five rebounds. Kaylee Burns grabbed seven boards and scored four points.

Sand Rock plays in the Northeast Regional at Jacksonville State University’s Pete Mathews Coliseum on Tuesday. They will face second-ranked Pisgah, a 73-25 winner over Cleveland in other girls sub-regional action on Friday.
