Cedar Bluff girls fall short at Cornerstone 48-44

BIRMINGHAM – After trailing by 20 points in the third quarter, the Class 2A, No. 5 Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers managed to give Cornerstone a finish in sub-regional basketball action on Friday. However, the Lady Tigers fell short by the final of 48-44 to end their season at 22-8.

Kylie Vadon led the Cedar Bluff 19 points, five rebounds, four steals, and two assists. Ciana Smith sank a pair of 3-pointers and had 10 points and five rebounds. Janaya Higgins collected eight points, 15 rebounds, two assists and a steal. Vana Martin finished with five points and seven boards

Kye Finch topped Cornerstone with 15 points. Aalea McGraw connected on a pair of 3-poitners and had 13 points. Ty’Asia Cheatham tallied 11 points.

Cornerstone led 15-8 at the end of the first quarter and 27-16 at halftime. The Lady Eagles held a 41-28 advantage at the end of the third quarter.
