ALPINE – Top-ranked Winterboro capitalized on 36 Spring Garden turnovers to defeat the Lady Panthers 78-18 in Class 1A girls sub-regional basketball action on Friday.
Maya Jennings led the Lady Panthers with nine points. Laci Jo McMurray connected on a pair of 3-pointers and finished with six points, six rebounds, and a steal.
Winterboro jumped out to a 28-7 lead in the first quarter and held a 44-11 edge at halftime. The Lady Bulldogs led 67-18 after three quarters.
