SAND ROCK – Rollie Pinto posted 20 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead the Class 3A, No. 8 Piedmont Bulldogs past Class 2A, No. 10  Sand Rock 56-53 on Monday night.

The Bulldogs sank 10 treys in the game.

Nick Glover and Mason Morrow connected on a pair of treys apiece for the Bulldogs. Glover ended with 13 points, while Morrow managed six points.

Ben Dempsey and Taylon Swain finished with seven and five points respectively.

Will Cleere topped Sand Rock with 21 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks, two steals, and an assist. Jonas Browder tallied 20 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. He also had three rebounds and an assist. Wyatt Miller finished with five points, 13 rebounds, two blocks, an assist, and a steal.

The game was tight throughout. The two teams were tied at 11 at the end of the first quarter. Sand Rock took a 25-22 lead into the locker room at halftime. Piedmont surged out in front 41-38 after three quarters and held on down the stretch for the final.
