ROME, GA.- Atrium Health Floyd will offer free blood pressure checks and heart education at two events this February in observation of American Heart Month:
- Free blood pressure checks will be provided in the Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center cafeteria Monday, Feb. 2 from 11 a.m. until noon. Untreated high blood pressure increases a person’s risk of heart attack and stroke. No appointment is necessary.
- Residents can learn hands-only CPR, discover ways to take care of their hearts, and have their blood pressure checked at the Rome-Floyd County YMCA,810 E. Second Ave., Saturday, Feb. 7 from 8 a.m. until noon. Hands-only CPR is a highly effective emergency intervention that helps circulate a person’s blood using chest compressions. It does not require rescue breaths. No appointment or preregistration is necessary for this free event.
