CENTRE– Children ages 4 through 12 will have an opportunity to learn soccer fundamentals during a free youth camp Friday, August 14, at J.W. Hampton Park in Centre.
The camp will begin at 6 p.m. at the park’s Babe Ruth Field. Registration opens at 5:30 p.m.
Centre Parks and Recreation is hosting the event in partnership with Cherokee County High School Soccer, the Weiss Lake Soccer Association, and WEIS Radio AM 990 and FM 100.5.
Boys and girls of all experience levels are invited to attend. Participants can meet local coaches and players while learning about soccer in a fun, active setting.
Individuals interested in becoming volunteer soccer coaches are also encouraged to attend.
Organizers will offer on-site registration for the upcoming youth soccer league. Therefore, families can enroll their children for the new season during the camp.
