DECATUR, Ala.– Due to the potential for hazardous driving conditions, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has announced that Driver License Offices across northern Alabama will be closed on Monday, January 26, to ensure the safety of employees and the public.
All affected locations are within the 19 counties included in the State of Emergency issued by Governor Kay Ivey, as winter weather and icy conditions are expected to impact parts of the state through early next week.
ALEA officials also warn that delayed openings may occur on Tuesday, January 27. Citizens are encouraged to follow ALEA on social media at @ALEAProtects or visit alea.gov for real-time updates on office closures and road conditions.
Driver License Offices closed Monday include locations in Blount County (Oneonta), Colbert County (Sheffield), Cullman County (Cullman), DeKalb County (Fort Payne), Etowah County (Gadsden), Fayette County (Fayette), Franklin County (Russellville), Jackson County (Scottsboro), Lamar County (Vernon), Lawrence County (Moulton), Limestone County (Athens), Madison County (Huntsville and Madison), Marion County (Hamilton), Marshall County (Guntersville), Morgan County (Decatur), and Walker County, including Jasper and Sumiton.
