Rome Man Arrested on Multiple Charges Following Alleged Assault and Rape 

ROME, Ga. — Joshua Gilbert Bishop, 39, of Rome, was arrested this week in connection with a violent assault and sexual attack at a residence on Dellvue Place, according to reports by Coosa Valley News.

Authorities allege that Bishop forcibly confined the victim and compelled her to engage in sexual intercourse. During the incident, police say Bishop struck the woman in the face and restrained her legs over her head. The victim reportedly sustained severe bruising and injuries to her neck, legs, and stomach.

Bishop faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault, rape, false imprisonment, battery, and a probation violation. Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case.
