CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ala.– Jasmine D. Agan, 26, of Cedar Bluff, was fatally injured when the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse she was driving collided head-on with a 2003 Ford Explorer driven by a 16-year-old juvenile, also of Cedar Bluff. A passenger in the Chevrolet, Thomas D. Agan, 25, of Temple, Georgia, was also fatally injured.
Authorities reported that neither Jasmine D. Agan nor Thomas D. Agan was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The Cherokee County Coroner’s Office pronounced both deceased at the scene.
The 16-year-old driver of the Ford Explorer sustained injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where he was airlifted to UAB.
The crash occurred on Alabama Highway 9 near the 263-mile marker, approximately two miles north of Centre. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate the incident. Cedar Bluff Police, Cedar Bluff Fire, Centre Police, Centre Fire, Atrium Floyd EMS, and Life Flight 16 responded.
