Clanton, Weaver lead Sand Rock girls past Spring Garden

SAND ROCK – Maddie Clanton collected 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Hadlie Weaver also netted 14 points to lead the Sand Rock Lady Wildcats to a 51-28 basketball victory over Spring Garden on Friday.

Kaylee Burns added nine points and 11 boards for the Lady Wildcats (10-2). Macey Pruitt posted eight points and Molly Grace Lay had five assists.

Kylie Bates led the Lady Panthers (3-4) with nine points and five rebounds. Addie Word added seven points, nine rebounds, and two assists. Maya Jennings and Lacie Jo McMurray managed six points apiece. McMurray’s points came on a pair of 3-pointers.

Spring Garden plays Saks in the Cherokee Invitational at Gaylesville at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Sand Rock plays Oxford in the Invitational at 3 p.m.
