CENTRE – Deannia Starr netted 17 points, all in the first half, to lead the Cherokee County Lady Warriors to a 74-20 basketball blowout of Cleburne County on Tuesday.
Nevaeh Gaidurgis tossed in 13 points for the Lady Warriors (9-2). Ellisan Givens and Ava Martin both managed nine points. All of Martin’s points came on 3-pointers.
Marie Crane, Carleigh Kidd, and Macy Lea each finished with six points. Kidd and Lea both connected on a pair of treys.
Amilya Williams topped the Lady Tigers with five points, all on free throws.
Cherokee County jumped out to a 25-3 advantage at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Warriors led 50-7 at halftime and held a 66-14 edge after three quarters.
Cherokee County hosts White Plains on Thursday.
