Mrs. Betty Lemons, age 73 of Centre, passed away on December 14, 2025, at her Cherokee County Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17th at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain John officiating. Her family will be receiving friends from noon until the hour of service at the funeral home. A graveside committal service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 18th at the Chilton Memorial Gardens located at 1104 Harriet Street, Clanton, AL 35045.
Survivors include her daughter, KT (Bo) Jolly; Sister, Martha (Veronica Beach) Wilbanks; Grandchildren, KateLynn (Blake) Gossett, Kallie (Hunter) Bailey, and Karlee Jolly (Hagen); Great-grandchild, Halen Brooks Gossett.
Pallbearers will be family.
Mrs. Lemons was born in Birmingham, AL, and was the daughter of the late Henry and Myrtle Louise Wilbanks. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jackie Ray Lemons and Robert Pennington. Mrs. Betty was known for her love for music, especially Elvis Presley. She also loved to dance, work puzzles, and enjoyed making people laugh.
The family will be accepting flowers, which can be purchased conveniently on our online store, or memorials may be made to the Children’s Advocacy Center in Cherokee County.
