Faith Christian boys pull away from Spring Garden

SPRING GARDEN – The Spring Garden Panthers hung with Faith Christian through three quarters of play on Friday night, but the Lions went on a 22-13 run in the fourth to take a 60-49 victory in area boys basketball action on Friday night.

Zane Edwards led the Panthers (2-3) with 21 points, including three 3-pointers. Brody Bostick sank a pair of treys and had 13 points. Brady Ruark finished with five points.

Colin Anderson topped the Lions with 26 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Parker Robertson and Dylan Rogers both delivered 12 points. Rogers sank a pair of 3-pointers. Nathan Carroll finished with five points.

Spring Garden held a 17-13 advantage at the end of the first quarter, but the Lions managed to take the lead at halftime 30-29. Faith held a 38-36 lead at the end of three quarters before pulling away in the fourth for the final.

Spring Garden hosts Cedar Bluff on Thursday.
