The Class 2A, Region 7 football coaches recently selected their all-region team. Pleasant Valley junior quarterback/linebacker Braxton Salster was chosen as the overall Most Valuable Player. Pisgah senior receiver Landon Watkins and senior linebacker Cape Duncan were named Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year respectively. Athlete of the Year goes to North Sand Mountain senior running back/linebacker Kade Davis.

Sand Rock (3-8) had five selections in junior quarterback Alec Ashley, sophomore receiver Ryker Woodall, junior receiver Brendon Lindsey, junior linebacker Nick Clanton, and senior receiver Alex Stone.

Wildcat honorable mention players are Grayson Layne, Lathan Amos, Ezra Robison, Bradley Stone, Jimmy Wells, and Landon Chadwick.

Cedar Bluff (3-7) earned three selections in senior linebacker Hayden Tucker, senior offensive lineman Hudson Smith, and freshman athlete Jamison Miller.

Tiger honorable mention players are Saw Jordan, Sam Payne, Kadien Tracy, Jonas Brown, and Zach Jones.

Joining Watkins and Duncan from region champion Pisgah (11-3) is sophomore quarterback Cutter Mays, senior defensive back Caleb Jenkins, senior wide receiver Jackson Smalley, senior running back Jett Jeffrey, junior linebacker Jager Gilbert, and senior linemen Chad Smith, Wes Arnold, and Eric Williams.

Eagle honorable mention players are Alex Flores and Ross Smith.

Joining Salster from region runner-up Pleasant Valley (10-2) is junior running back Kayden Vick, junior defensive lineman Walker Roper, junior wide receiver/defensive back Cooper Dougal, senior linebacker Izayah Nevens, senior lineman Wesley Wheeler, junior wide receiver/defensive back Nic Acker, and senior linebacker Brayden Pappa.

Raider honorable mention players are Jackson Acker, Jaden Sparks, Josh Buse, Luke Gunning, Hayden Hardy, and Jeffrey Hughes.

North Sand Mountain (8-3) is represented by senior quarterback Jackson Burgess, junior lineman Wyatt Starkey, senior defensive back Brady Anderson, senior wide receiver/linebacker Jack Johnson, junior lineman Jayden Bell, and junior wide receiver/defensive back Hayden Hall.

Bison honorable mention players are Duncan Wilks and Stone Kirby.

Selected from Section (3-7) is junior tight end Landon Vaughn, junior lineman Evan Franks, senior wide receiver Cooper Williams, and junior defensive back Hunter Lundy.

Lion honorable mention players are Aaden Varner, Braxton Rowell, and Aaron Thomas.

Representing Gaston (1-9) is junior running back Trey Johnson and junior wide receiver Noah Cohen.

Bulldog honorable mention players are Domonique Heard, Jon Ponce, Brody King, Anthony Vance, and Gage Street.
