Mr. Trey Mullins

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Trey Mullins, 39, of Piedmont, will be held Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, at 3 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, with Pastor Dan Hale officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 2 p.m.

Following the service, friends are invited to gather at Mt. Weisner Fire Department #2 in Centre.

Mullins passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, at his home.

He is survived by his wife, Cassie Mullins of Piedmont; three daughters, Auburn Mullins (Michael), Briley Mullins and Dallas Mullins, all of Centre; his mother, Johnette Johnson (Jamey) of Centre; step-father, Jeff Rogers (Angie) of Forney; two grandchildren, Lainey and Kolson, with another on the way; grandparents, Evelyn Puckett (Irby) and Belynda Johnson, both of Centre, and Yvonne Hicks of Canton, Ga.; sister, Brooke Thompson (Wesley) of Piedmont; two brothers, Dustin Mullins (Tonya) of Fort Stewart, Ga., and Casey Rogers of Centre; nephew, Sawyer Thompson; and two step-children, Madison Shields of Talladega and Drew Nowland of Jacksonville. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Lisa Shields, along with numerous extended family members and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Mt. Weisner #2 Volunteer Fire Department, where Mullins served as Assistant Chief.

A native of Cherokee County, Mullins was a graduate of Spring Garden High School and a United States Marine Corps veteran. He previously worked at International Paper in Rome, Ga., and was known for his love of family, hunting, and University of Georgia football.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Mullins Jr.; grandfather, James Whorton; and grandmother, Haney Green.
