In the Cherokee County Arrest Files for the previous 24 hours:

Jakeb Pruitt, age 34 of Munford, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on a previous charge.

Carol Hight, age 63 of Rome, Georgia, was arrested by the Cedar Bluff Police Department on charges of the unlawful possession of a controlled substance, 2nd degree unlawful possession of marijuana, and the unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Christopher Dix, age 51 of Gadsden, was arrested by the Centre Police Department for failure to appear on two previous charges.

Markeita Davenport, age 55 of Gadsden, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of probation violation and for failure to appear on a previous charge.

David Akin, age 59 of Centre, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of grand jury idictment-1st degree theft by deception.

Beverly Akin, age 60 of Centre, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of grand jury idictment-1st degree theft by deception.

Arrests are based on probable cause; all subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Currently, there are a total of 92 inmates housed in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
