Mary “Jill” Cochran Shipp Col

Mary “Jill” Cochran Shipp Cole, of Centre, Alabama, and longtime resident of Paulding County, Georgia, passed away on November 2, 2025.

Jill was the proud mother of Wesley (Amy) Shipp and Lila (Larry) Worrell, and the loving partner of Paul “Bubba” Haley. She was “Mama Jill” to her beloved grandchildren Alana (Colby) Polk, Abby Brumbelow, Gracie Shipp, Ella Shipp, Kylie Worrell, and Levi Worrell who were her greatest joy. She is also survived by her brother Howell “Doc” Cochran, sisters Jackie Hopper and Sylvia Smith, sister-in-law Mary Anna Cochran and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harben and Mary Cochran, and her brothers John Cochran and Malcolm Cochran.

Jill was known for her caring, loving nature and her infectious sense of humor. She was the first to lend a hand when her family needed her and always had a way of bringing comfort, often with a laugh that made everything seem a little brighter. She was a fantastic cook who loved sharing meals with those she loved. Road trips, beach trips, and days spent at the lake were some of her favorite pastimes, where she made countless memories with her family.

Her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and all those who were lucky enough to know her. Jill’s spirit of kindness, humor, and love will be missed by everyone whose life she touched.

A graveside memorial will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Hunt Cemetery in Dallas, GA with Rev. Jimmy Tibbitts officiating. The family invites all who knew her to join in remembering the wonderful woman she was.
