With their 20-13 loss at Anniston on Friday, which ended a 20-game region winning streak, the Cherokee County Warriors dropped three spots to No. 7 in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association high school football rankings.

The latest poll was released early Wednesday morning.

Cherokee County (5-2) looks to rebound this Friday when it hosts Hokes Bluff (4-2).

In Class 3A, the Piedmont Bulldogs (6-0) maintain their No. 2 ranking. The Bulldogs are coming off a 49-9 victory at Locust Fork and will travel to J.B. Pennington (5-2) on Friday.

Other area games on Friday include Class 2A, No. 6 Pisgah (4-2) at Cedar Bluff (2-5), Sylvania (1-5) at Collinsville (4-2), and the Foothills Tractor Game of the Week, Gaylesville (3-3) at Spring Garden (4-3).
