Nellie “Rovene” Treece, age 78 of Centre, AL, passed away Friday, September 19, 2025.
A funeral service will be held 2PM Friday, September 26, 2025 in the Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eddie Nation officiating, burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12PM until the time of service Friday at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will include Sam Treece, Ian Jennings, Jacob Hill, Tommy Hill, Blake Hicks and Robert Grimes.
She is survived by her son, Robert “Neil” Treece (Brandi); daughter, Laura Treece Jennings (Kane); brother, Phillip Hill; sister, Mary Hill Roberts; grandchildren, Sam Treece, Ian Jennings, Katie Treece Hicks(Blake) and Lily Jennings. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, her church, work colleagues and students. We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Franklin and AccentCare Hospice in Franklin, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Hill and Cora Trammell Hill; brothers, Joe Hill, Hugh Hill and Raymond Hill; sisters, Betty Hill and Jane Hill Smith.
Ms. Treece was a native of Centre, was of the Baptist faith, and loved her family and church family. She loved the Lord from the time she was a small child going to services with her parents and family.
She received her master’s in Elementary School Education from the University of Alabama and she taught school at Centre Elementary and Baxter Elementary in Baxter, TN. During her time as a teacher, she taught students to be inquisitive and love the pursuit of knowledge. Math was her favorite class to help instill the skills to her students for their future success.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Centre First Baptist Church.
