Pedestrian Killed on Shorter Avenue

The pedestrian, identified as Sandra Hernandez, 60, of Rome, sustained severe injuries after entering the roadway from North Hughes Street and being struck by a vehicle. Despite immediate medical efforts, she was later pronounced deceased.

Two Killed in North Broad Street Collision
The second fatal crash happened Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:45 a.m. at the intersection of North Broad Street and North Avenue. Officers and emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene of a multi-vehicle collision.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Jennifer Leigh Pacholick, of Rome, sideswiped a vehicle driven by Ralph Tripp, of Calhoun, before continuing northbound.
