PIEDMONT – Class 3A, No. 2 Piedmont opened Class 3A, Region 6 play Friday night with a 43-0 victory over Saks.

Cole Austin led the Bulldogs (2-0) by completing 13-of-17 pass attempts for 177 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran in for a 9-yard score. Rollie Pinto caught five passes for 89 yards and two scores from 32 and 9 yards. Nick Mixson led the Bulldog ground game with 66 yards on seven carries with two scores from 4 and 20 yards. Aliandre Wright added a 4-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

The Bulldogs scored all 43 of their points in the first half.

JaFhari Monroe led the Wildcats (1-1) with 49 yards on three carries.

Piedmont travels to Ohatchee on Friday.
