Etowah County Marine Unit Conducts Night Training on Local Waterways

Etowah County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit personnel took to the water last night for night-time training exercises aimed at sharpening their skills and readiness.

Sheriff Jonathon Horton emphasized the importance of the drills, noting that training in low-light conditions is essential for effective search-and-rescue operations and emergency responses.

“Whether it’s a search-and-rescue operation or responding to emergencies on the water, we want our team ready to keep the public safe at all times of the day and night,” Horton said.

The Sheriff’s Office praised the dedication and professionalism of the deputies, who regularly train to ensure the safety of residents across Etowah County.
