Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Hosts First Multi-Agency Training at New CCSO Training Center
Leesburg, Ala. — The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office marked a significant milestone this week by hosting its first official multi-agency training session at the newly opened CCSO Training Center. The event brought together law enforcement personnel from across northeast Alabama for a day of legal instruction and interagency collaboration.
Led by the Cherokee County District Attorney’s Office, the session focused on newly enacted and upcoming changes to Alabama state law that will impact law enforcement procedures. Officers received updates on criminal statutes, courtroom protocols, and legal standards aimed at improving transparency and accountability.
Participants included officers and deputies from the Centre Police Department, Leesburg Police Department, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), and Blount County Sheriff’s Office. The gathering emphasized the importance of coordinated training efforts and consistent law enforcement practices across jurisdictions.
The CCSO Training Center, which opened earlier this summer, was designed to serve as a regional hub for professional development, offering training in legal, tactical, and operational areas. Future sessions are planned to address topics such as crisis intervention, use-of-force policy, and investigative techniques.
This first training event represents a shared commitment among participating agencies to continuous education, professionalism, and public service.
