Fort Payne Man Facing Multiple Child Sex Crime Charges

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — A Fort Payne man has been arrested and charged with multiple sex crimes involving minors, according to court documents and the DeKalb County Jail.

Anthony Burrows, 38, was taken into custody on Tuesday and booked into the DeKalb County Jail on charges including second-degree sodomy, second-degree sexual abuse, indecent exposure, and additional offenses involving minors. He remains held on a $250,000 bond.

Court records reveal that Burrows was indicted by a DeKalb County grand jury in February. According to the indictment, he is accused of engaging in sodomy with a child under the age of 16, subjecting a minor to unlawful sexual contact, exposing himself with the intent to gratify sexual desires, and soliciting or coercing a minor into sexual intercourse.

An arraignment hearing for Burrows has been scheduled for September 23.

The investigation is ongoing.
