Leesburg – A deadly early morning accident claimed one life in Leesburg on Friday. The crash occurred on Industrial Boulevard, also known as Highway 68, between Leesburg and Sand Rock, near a curve just past Bristow Gap Road.
Authorities say a utility truck and an SUV collided head-on. The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. One person in the utility truck was taken by ambulance for treatment of injuries.
The identities of those involved have not been released pending family notification. Responding to the scene were Leesburg Police and Fire Departments, the Cherokee County Rescue Squad, Atrium Floyd EMS, and the Cherokee County Coroner.
