BALLPLAY, AL – At approximately 2:32 a.m., emergency crews were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the Ballplay Bend area. Ballplay Bend 603 was first on scene and confirmed one structure fully involved in flames, with two nearby exposures at risk and a live power line down on the ground.
Engine 105 arrived shortly thereafter and deployed a blitz monitor to initiate fire suppression efforts. Once the fire was knocked down, firefighters advanced two attack lines to continue extinguishing hot spots and prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent structures.
Multiple agencies responded to the incident, including Ballplay #1 Fire Department, Hokes Bluff Fire Department, Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, Piedmont Rescue, and Etowah County EMA. Thanks to the seamless coordination and swift action by all departments, the fire was brought under control with no reported injuries.
Unfortunately, the home was deemed a total loss.
