Three-vehicle crash on U.S. 11 kills Ft. Payne woman

 

FT. PAYNE– A 70-year-old Ft. Payne woman was killed Friday evening in a three-vehicle crash on U.S. 11 in DeKalb County.

The crash happened at approximately 5:25 p.m. near the 223-mile marker, about one mile south of Ft. Payne.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche struck the 1999 Toyota Camry driven by Colleen K. Jones. John David Andrew Twilley, 40, of Ft. Payne, was driving the Avalanche.

After the initial impact, a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria LX struck the Camry. Matthew C. Dunn, 29, of Cedar Bluff, was driving the Crown Victoria.

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the crash. No additional information was available.
