CENTRE– The Cherokee County board meeting will take place Monday, July 27, at 4 p.m. Board members will gather at the Central Office at 200 Armory Road in Centre.
The Cherokee County Board of Education called the special session to address several school system matters. The posted agenda lists 15 items, including the call to order and adjournment.
A call to order and welcome will open the meeting. Afterward, the board will receive public comments.
Members will then conduct roll call and establish a quorum. They will also verify that the school system followed proper meeting notification procedures.
Next, the board will consider adopting the agenda. Members will also consider approving minutes from the July 13 meeting.
The proposed 2026-2027 Student Handbook appears among the main items. Board members will consider approving the handbook for the upcoming school year.
Several business matters follow on the agenda. The board will consider accepting a bid and bid extension.
Members will then review agreements involving the school system. The board will also consider an energy savings budget.
Meal prices for the 2026-2027 school year will come before the board. Members will consider those prices during the special session.
Personnel action appears later on the agenda. Members will consider that item before moving to other business.
The agenda includes an item labeled “Other” before adjournment. Board members will close the special session after completing the scheduled business.
