SOUTHSIDE– Southside senior fitness classes will begin Monday, July 27, at the Southside Community Center. The free program will offer two exercise options each Monday and Wednesday.
The classes will help older adults improve strength, balance, mobility and stamina. Participants can choose a seated class or a full-body standing workout. In addition, all fitness levels are welcome.
Each participant may exercise at a comfortable pace. Therefore, seniors can select the class that best matches their abilities and fitness goals.
Southside Senior Fitness Classes Offer Two Options
Chair exercise classes will meet from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. each Monday and Wednesday. The seated sessions will focus on gentle stretching, joint mobility and strength-building exercises.
This class provides an option for seniors who prefer to remain seated. Participants can work on movement and strength while following the exercises at their own pace.
Meanwhile, full-body standing exercises will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. each Monday and Wednesday. These sessions will focus on total-body conditioning and balance.
The standing exercises will also help participants improve their daily stamina. Seniors who prefer a more active, full-body workout may choose this afternoon session.
Both classes provide an opportunity for seniors to remain active during the week. Participants may select one exercise format based on their comfort level and personal preferences.
