Mrs Patty Ann Highfield Tierce

Funeral service for Mrs. Patty Ann Highfield Tierce, age 78, of Spring Garden, will be Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Mr. Ronnie Highfield, Rev. Chris Tierce, and Mr. Michael Roach officiating. Burial will follow at Piedmont Memory Gardens with Rev. Wendell Dutton officiating the committal service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Tierce passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Julie Bobbitt (Kevin) and Kelley Slayton (Chris) all of Ball Play; 1 son, Russ Tierce (Nicole) of Spring Garden; 6 grandchildren, Tyler Ballew (Kristen), Rachel Ford (Braden), Myleigh Bobbitt, Brooklyn Bobbitt, Casen Tierce and Austin Slayton (Alexis); 6 great-grandchildren, Parker Ford, Slade Ford, Brynlee Ballew, Drake Slayton, Lainey Kate Slayton and Baylor Slayton; 2 sisters, Sandra Stinson and Karen Stinson (Tony); 2 brothers, Ronnie Highfield (Sonja) and Kenneth Highfield; brother-in-law, Chris Tierce(Carol); and sister-in-law, Mickie Kerr (Tony)

Pallbearers will be Tyler Ballew, Evan Kerr, Braden Ford, Austin Slayton, Brett Stinson, Aaron Andrews, Christian Crider and Tony Kerr; Honorary pallbearers will be Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nephews, and Dennis Tierce, Gary Gowens and Ted Acker.

Mrs. Tierce was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Stevie Russell Tierce; parents, N. C. “Snooks” and Willene Rogers Highfield; grandchildren, Mazie Ford and Colby Slayton; special niece, Misty Stockton; mother and father-in-law, Russell and Joyce Tierce; brother-in-law, David Tierce; and sister-in-law, Brenda Tierce.

Mrs. Tierce was a longtime resident of Spring Garden and was a member of Pilgram Rest Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Cherokee County High School and attended Coosa Valley Tech. She loved to follow the weather and was an avid follower of meteorologist James Spann. Mrs. Tierce loved cooking, reading books, coloring and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church.
